Diane Fay Davis

February 14, 2024

Diane Fay Davis, was born April 30, 1944 to Kenneth and Myrtle Louderback in Liberal, KS. She grew up in the area, attended school there, and later met and married Alvin Davis on March 16, 1961.

They had the privilege of spending 62 years together. In that time they had three daughters; Malinda, Colleen and Candie.

Alvin and Diane moved from Tyrone, OK in 1966 to the family farm in La Junta, CO. There Diane worked at Gibsons for five years, the two local sale barns; Winter’s Livestock in the café and LaJunta Livestock in the office for fifteen years. They then moved to Wild Horse, CO. to the JOD Ranch where she was head cook for all the brandings, shipping and day workers.

She wore out two riding lawn mowers keeping up with her immaculate lawn that she proudly worked on daily.

She loved her family and grandkids dearly. No one left Grandma’s house hungry with a seven-course meal to choose from or a freezer full of Schwan’s Ice Cream!

Later in life, Alvin and Diane remodeled a home together and moved it to Haswell, CO. There, she was an administrator of the local cemetery and an active member of the Senior Citizens, serving two years as the President.

She was a caring and loving wife, Mom and Grandma. We have peace in the fact that she left us with faith in God.

She is survived by her husband Alvin and three daughters. Malinda Scott of Rainbow Valley, AZ,

Colleen (Bob) Barnhart of Cheraw, CO and Candace (Cash) Chamberlain of Wild Horse, CO.

Six grandchildren: Bruce Barnhart of Cheraw, CO, Michelle (Jeremy)Dutton of Cheraw, CO,
