Alvin Lee Davis (82), of Haswell, CO. passed away on November 22, 2024.

Alvin was born on the family homestead near Aguilar, CO. to Estel and Josephine Davis on October 30, 1942.

Alvin and his older sister and brother attended school in a one room schoolhouse not far from the family homestead until he was in middle school. After that he would ride his horse to town to attend school and stay the week with the teacher.  Every Friday he got out of school early to make sure he got back home before dark.

After graduation he moved to Oklahoma to work in the oil fields as a pipeline welder, He then met the love of his life Diane Louderback. They were married March of 1961.  They had the privilege of spending 62 years together,  They had three children Malinda, Colleen, Candie.

In 1966 Alvin moved his family back to Colorado to help his father with the family farm that was just purchased in La Junta, Colorado where he would work at the local sale barns.

In 1989 Alvin and Diane moved to Wildhorse, Colorado where he took the job as the ranch Forman for the J.O.D Ranch. He was back doing what he loved.  He didn’t ever enjoy the farming life. His passion was ranching. After retirement Alvin and Diane moved to the small town of Haswell, Colorado

He is survived by his three daughters, Malinda Scott of Rainbow Valley, AZ.  Colleen (Bob) Barnhart of Cheraw, CO.  Candie (Cash) Chamberlain of Wild Horse, CO.  Six Grandchildren;  Bruce Barnhart of Cheraw, CO.  Michelle (Jeremy) Dutton of Cheraw, CO.  Brock (Ryely) Chamberlain of Karval, CO.  Amy ( Shade) Etbauer) of Kim, CO.  James Scott and Amanda Shears of Rainbow Valley, AZ.   and 9 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife Diane Davis and his parents as well as his sister Norma Heikes and brother Don Davis.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday December 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Haswell Community Building in Haswell, CO. 

Memorial contributions should be made to the Haswell Seniors or to Weisbrod Health in Eads.
