Barbara (Aurelia) Joan Dutro Taylor was born on September 24, 1939 in Hugo, Colorado to George and Alta Dutro. She grew up on a small farm south of the town and graduated as valedictorian from Hugo High School in 1957.
Soon after graduation she moved to Metro Denver, where she had various jobs and eventually met her Beloved Al. They married soon thereafter and moved to a home in Idledale, a small town in the foothills west of Denver. She gave birth to two boys, Alfred Jr. and Gregory.
In 1965, they moved to their home in Centennial. Aurelia took on various jobs and also gave many hours to volunteering, especially in nursing homes.
Late in the 1970s she found her niche in daycare. For the next 20 years, she was very dedicated to child care and was decorated not only by the governor of Colorado, but also recognized nationally by the National Association for Family Daycare.
After Al's retirement she continued her daycare for a few years, until travel and a vacation home in St Croix took precedence. Retirement gave Aurelia the time to focus on her spiritual side and her metaphysical beliefs.
Aurelia was a spiritual warrior. Her vast knowledge and wisdom and her incredible devotion to the Divine were guideposts to a life lived with intention and determination. She was someone no-one would forget, as every encounter was meaningful even if only for a moment. Her radiance was felt by all who knew her.
Her love of the planet and for all who dwelled there was always on her mind and she continued searching for ways to elevate, protect and enhance all. She was truly a gift to the planet and to all who knew her.
Barbara passed away peacefully at her home on June 18, 2025. She is preceded in death by her husband, Al; her parents, George and Alta Dutro; sisters, Lorita Forristall, Gloria Potter and Joyce Riley; and brothers-in law, Earl Forristall, Duane Marsten and Don Riley.
She's survived by her two sons, Alfred Jr. and Gregory Taylor; grandsons Christopher, Samuel and Adam Taylor; brothers Claud (Karen) and Richard (Diane) Dutro; sister-in-law Dorothy Taylor and many nieces and nephews.
Her Celebration of Life Service is tentatively scheduled for September 27, 2025 at First Spiritual Science Church of Denver, 3375 S. Dahlia, Denver, CO. 80222. Time to be determined.
