Daniel E. Griffin, age 83, passed away, surrounded by family, at home in Colorado Springs on August 12, 2025.
Dan considered the Karval community, where he spent much of his time with a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, his second home. As a youth, he developed a deep love for the Colorado prairie, and that passion endured throughout his life.
An avid hunter, Dan formed many strong connections with the farmers and ranchers of Lincoln County. He had great respect for those landowners, and he was always grateful for the privilege of roaming their fields.
Dan is survived by his sons Darin and Dean, his grandson Gabe, brother David, sister Mar Porter, and long time companion Evelyn Cunningham.
A contribution will be made in Dan’s name to the Karval Community Alliance.
