It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Dorothy “Puggy” Darlene Walker of Brush, CO. She passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, at the age of 88.
Dorothy Darlene Gisi was born in Yuma, CO, on April 25, 1937, to Clarence Joseph and Dorothy Elizabeth Gisi. She graduated from Otis High School in Otis, CO. Shortly after, she fell in love and moved to California for a brief time to marry Kenneth Walker. They eventually returned to Colorado to live and work on the family farm.
Dorothy devoted much of her life to raising her four children, Karlene (Peppi), Karl (Kelly), Warren, and Jane on the farm. In 1972, she and Ken purchased the Limon Sale Barn in Limon, CO. Later, she graduated from Jones Real Estate School and spent her later years selling and appraising homes.
A devoted member of the Catholic Church, Dorothy shared her faith and love of Jesus with all those around her. She was vibrant and social, always creating meaningful activities for her senior friends. She volunteered countless hours at the Limon Senior Center, hosting tea parties and playing a key role in the Red Hat Society. She also dedicated time to the Limon Museum, where she curated displays from her cherished Native American collection.
Dorothy thrived on family and lived for the annual Mountain Family Reunion.
