Ellen Jane was born November 24, 1930 to Lloyd C. and Leona (Stafford) Nichols in Dayton, Ohio and passed away June 28, 2025 in Norwalk, Iowa.
Ellen Jane is survived by her children, Diana Anderson Northcutt of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Randall Purnell Anderson Sr. of Rose Hill, Virginia; five grandchildren, Randall Purnell Anderson of Odessa, Texas, Cris Anderson of Rose Hill, Virginia, Maryellen Andersen of Indianola, Iowa, Michael Anderson of Rose Hill, Virginia and Christopher Northcutt of Tomah, Wisconsin; lots of great-great grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Ann Nichols Kirkman of Oakland, California; nieces and nephews and a lot of friends around the world.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Ronald Norris Anderson; parents, Lloyd C and Leona Nichols; and sister, Margret Jo Nichols Ford.
Ellen Jane was a gifted and talented woman. She was a certified ceramic instructor and did lots of crafting throughout her life. She had her single engine pilots license, and was certified by the United Methodist Church in Christian Education.
Music, both instrumental and vocal, began early in her life. She became the church organist at First Evangelical United Brethren Church in Pueblo, Colorado in eighth grade, she gave piano lessons, played piano for numerous churches and directed choirs throughout her life.
Ellen Jane was active in many organizations including United Methodist Women, Ninety -Nines (an organization for female pilots), International Flying Farmers becoming their IFF Queen in 1966, and Order of Eastern Star to name a few.
Memorials should be made to Suncrest Hospice or your local Hospice organization or to Indianola First United Methodist Church.
