JANET FAYE SEYMOUR

Posted

In Loving Memory of a

Remarkable Woman

Janet Faye Seymour of Karval, Colo. was given the hand of her one true love to join him in heaven on July 14, 2024.

Janet was born to Constance (Connie) and Keith Tuttle, Aug. 13, 1940, in Karval, Colo. She was always so proud of being born in the same bed as her mother in the Messersmith Homestead.

Janet spent her entire life in Karval. She graduated from Karval High School and married her high school sweetheart, Donald Seymour in 1958. The loving couple moved into their home shortly after and Janet spent 66 years under that roof with a few additions and remodels. That structure is where they raised their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many many flower gardens that surrounded the home.

Her yard was known as the “Oasis of the Plains.” Janet and Don farmed and ranched together. She provided the best meals during harvests and let’s not forget the famous Cherry Cheesecake. When she wasn’t busy with all that, she also worked for the USDA/FSA and part-time in the truck stop in Limon.

Janet was a long standing member of Friendship Circle, over 65 years, as well as a good long tenure with Willing Workers. She truly loved her community, growing up playing music and dancing with fellow neighbors and community members, she delighted in gatherings, hosting picnics and Christmas parties every year.

Janet (Mom, Gammie, Granny, Gran, Grandma) was truly an extraordinary soul.  She was a woman of unparalleled class and style, whose grace and elegance left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her independent spirit was a beacon of strength and inspiration to us all. She navigated life with a fierce determination and unwavering courage, setting an example of resilience and fortitude that will forever be cherished.

A true connoisseur of art, she found beauty in the world around her and shared her passion with those she held dear.

Her love for flower gardens was a reflection of her nurturing and vibrant personality, blooming with colors and fragrances that mirrored the warmth of her heart.

Her presence illuminated every room she entered, radiating kindness, wisdom, and a genuine love for life. You would always know when Janet arrived. Her laughter was infectious, her wisdom profound and her love unconditional.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Connie and Keith Tuttle, grandson’s Garrett Dalton Seymour, Tyler Seymour and great-grandson Kade Bonicelli, aunts and uncles.

Janet is survived by her sister, JoAnn Byers, son David Seymour (Bobbi), daughter Julie Seymour, youngest son Chris Seymour (Amy); grandchildren Jenisha (Nick), Shayla, Brok, Shelby, Chance (Thalia), Chase, Kobi (Corey), Teghan, Austyn, Garrett (Karli), Kristian and Kameron; great-grandchildren Leven, Ryker, Ayva, Villeon, Autumn, Vincent, Allaya, Aubrey, Keith and Lilah and nephew Matthew, as well as many other cousins, nieces and nephews.

As we mourn her passing, we take solace in the memories we shared, the lessons she imparted, and the love she bestowed upon us. Though she may no longer be beside us, her spirit will forever guide us, her many legacies will endure, and her love will live on in our hearts and will forever be cherished and celebrated.

There will be a Celebration of Life held Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the Karval School, 16232 County Rd. 29, Karval, CO.

The luncheon will be following the services.
