It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our precious daughter, Jennifer Marie Henry. Jenny was born to Raymond Clell and Doris Louise Meredith Henry on August 1, 1984, in the Lincoln Community Hospital in Lincoln County, Colo. She graduated from this life into the next on November 23 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Morgan, Colo., following a short illness.
Jenny was one of three children raised in a Christian home with her sister, Rachael Dawn and her brother Joshua Timothy Ray in Limon, Colo. Jenny attended Limon Elementary and Genoa-Hugo School, where she graduated in May 2005.
Some activities Jenny enjoyed were swimming, attending movies, visiting the library, bowling, hiking, her cockateel and parakeet, watching Hallmark movies, puzzle working, and going on vacations with her family. She also enjoyed spending time on the phone with her boyfriend, who lives in another group home; learning to cook and doing civic- minded activities and attending formal and casual dances with Vicky Duran and the kids in her group.
During her life, some of the places she visited were the Wild Animal Sanctuary outside of Fort Morgan, San Diego, Calif.; Tuscan, the Grand Canyon, Ariz.; the Great Sand Dunes, Colo.; Rocky Mountain N.P. Colo., Yellowstone N.P., Wyo., Branson, Mo., New Braunfels, Texas, Orlando, and Vero Beach, Fla., and visited her sister in Miles City, Mont.
Jenny loved Jesus and attended The Oasis of Hope Church while she lived in Limon or was home for visits. While she was in Fort Morgan, she attended a Baptist church there. In October 2018, her family moved her to a group home in Fort Morgan, where she found many new friends, including a staff member named Rosa. Jenny loved helping Rosa do housework, and Rosa would do things for Jenny, like braiding her hair and polishing Jenny’s nails. She loved living in the group home and enjoyed the independence it gave her.
Jenny is predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Roy Meredeth, maternal grandmother Pauline Phyllis Harpel, and paternal grandfather, Donald Ray Henry.
She is survived by her grandmother, Rose (Don) Henry, and her parents, Ray and Doris Henry; her siblings, Joshua (Destrie) Henry of Hugo and Rachael (Jeremy) Westbrook; her niece McKenzie, Henry; and her nephews, Elijah Westbrook, Timothy Fowler, Rodney Fowler, and Daniel Henry.
