American Legion Family Post 2017 offers Patriot Pen writing contest for area students

The Pledge of Allegiance is one of the first things you learn as a child in school.

Students can enter the contest by writing an essay, a poem, or creating an art project to express what the pledge means to them. Fourth graders in area schools are urged to participate through their classroom teachers. Teachers may contact American

Legion Contest coordinators by leaving messages for Cathy Hernandez at 720-284-7899 or Stefanie Freeman at 719-760-2306. Home school participants needing information should text Allison Arnold at 719-510-4098.
