RICHARD ALLEN DARLING

Posted

Richard Allen Darling, born January 6, 1957 in Camino, California, we celebrate your life, your spirit, and your legacy. Richard was a beacon of resilience, reliability, and loyalty. As the author Mark Twain once wrote, "The secret of getting ahead is getting started," and Richard certainly embodied this spirit in all walks of life, from his career to his hobbies and family life.

Richard moved to Limon, Colorado, over five decades ago. Here, he not only found his home but also built an impressive career in construction as an equipment foreman with IHC, retiring in 2019 after many years of dedicated service. His coworkers remember him as a respected figure who was always ready to lend a helping hand and teach others new skills. Richard's reliability and loyalty were felt not only at work but also in his personal life. His love for bowling, pool, and fishing, not to mention his knack for collecting a variety of things, showcased his wide array of interests and his zest for life. Yet, above all, it was his family and his collections that mattered most to him.

Richard was a loving husband to Bonnie, whom he married on July 29, 1978. Together, they raised three wonderful children, Brienne, Richard Brandon and Chase. He is survived by his wife, his children, his daughter-in-law Katy (Chase), his siblings Sandra Hernandez, Floyd Darling, Mike Darling, and Susan Westmore, and his grandchildren Gavin, Roland, Ethan, and Charlotte Darling as well as over 20 wonderful nieces and nephews, Sister in-laws Sheila (Dave), Kris (Ron), and Brother in-law Ronnie. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Rosella Darling. Those who knew Richard will remember him for his resilience, his love for life, and his unwavering dedication to his family and work.

In the words of Helen Keller, "What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Richard's life, love, and laughter will continue to live on through the memories we hold dear.
